Slow Roads: Web Edition
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Slow Roads is a casual driving game all about finding peace in a long, scenic journey. Endless procedurally-generated roads bring ever-changing scenery while you coast along in your choice of vehicle. Set the weather to suit your mood, throw on some music, and just drive.
This is a downloadable, offline version of the web-based game available freely at slowroads.io - check that out before downloading! Note that this version does not include extra features (unlike the upcoming Steam version) though does include high-resolution assets not available on the web.

- Configure your environment with a choice of two locations, multiple road styles, and an infinite number of seeds
- Set the mood by choosing between different weathers, seasons, and times of day
- Choose your ride selecting from a two-seater coupe, a motorcycle, and a coach
- Just drive - or let the autodrive take over. You can even let it steer while you hit the pedals
- Controller-compatible, including with wheels such as the G920, but please note there is no force feedback. Unlike slowroads.io, this Web Edition download is not touch-compatible.

Slow Roads is a solo-developed project in full-time development. There are dozens of features planned for the near term, including new vehicles, improved audio, and many more locations. While some of these features will be exclusive to the Steam version, the web version will continue to receive updates and will remain free and ad-free forever. The Web Edition is offered for a small price, which goes directly toward supporting development and enabling the ad-free hosting of the web game.
And if you'd like to see more about what's coming in future, check out the Steam page for the full details. The release date is yet uncertain (solo dev is hard!) but I'm hoping to have it wrapped up by the end of Spring 2026. Please add it to your wishlist if you'd like to be notified of release!
Thanks for reading! Here's a secret for you - once you're in the game, enter unlockdriftmas into the Seed input box, and it will unlock the Driftmas location and snow rally vehicle. Be aware that this is not yet officially supported, so you may encounter bugs.

Disclaimer: Slow Roads is under ongoing development and you may encounter bugs or errors. Please contact support@slowroads.io if you face issues that can't be fixed by reloading the game.
Graphics note: You may need to configure graphics settings for the Slow Roads application in your OS settings or GPU control panel. In particular, if your road textures are blurry, check your anisotropic filtering setting and increase it if necessary.

Hey there dev,
I would like to say thank you for making this game for everyone who stumble upon it to enjoy.
It begin with it was bookmarked for later but I soon completely forget about it. When I spontaneously revisit the bookmark link, I click and played for short but really good time.
Your game is so cool and beautiful. I mean procedurally generated wonderful scene all the experience while keeping the graphic stay smooth in my close to potato PC is awesome. How did you made the miracle ? ( I would love it be remain mystery as I continue to stay fasinate your game magic.)
For others, I totally recommend playing with with Lofi Girl on. Looking forward to your developement on Steam too.
Cheers,
Cozy enjoyer
Hello, I absolutely love this game. I played it in the web version when it first came out, and I was really hoping it would be released as a local downloadable version. I’ve tried it now and it runs very well for me, even with the graphics on maximum, and my PC isn’t very powerful.
I love playing it with a controller — it’s a hundred times better. I don’t have a steering wheel, but I’m sure it would be even more amazing with one. I could easily spend hours playing it, and I’m definitely going to buy it when it comes out on Steam. This game has completely won me over.
I’d also like to suggest some features that you might consider adding in the final version, or gradually over time. For example, being able to upload your own vehicle models would be incredible. It would also be great if the wheels behaved more realistically — I mean actual drifting physics, although I’m not sure if that’s already implemented, sorry if I’m not explaining it well.
I would love to see roads and highway-style environments with streetlights, open fields, guardrails, and more detailed surroundings. It would also be cool to have road splits or branching paths where you can choose which way to go. Maybe even an option to select specific track types — for example, choosing only 90-degree turns, only open fields, only forest sections, or a mix of them.
I have more ideas that I can’t remember right now, but I’d love to share them in the future. I’d also really enjoy being able to choose between different engine sounds. I remember reading that you didn’t want gasoline engine sounds for a specific reason, which I respect, but I would really appreciate it if that became possible.
Keep up the amazing work. This game is a hidden gem.
Hey, thanks for the kind words, and for sticking around so long! If you were there when it first came out you'll know progress has been pretty slow (sorry), but I'm now working on the game full-time and things are moving more quickly. You'll be glad to know that lots of the features you mention are likely coming to the Steam version in a couple of months - more details are on the steam page, but it includes more controls over road style, gas engines, and more detail in the environments. I've wondered about branching paths for a long time, but it's a bit of a technical challenge because it means generating two sets of road and geometry until the player has committed to a direction. Not impossible, so it might happen one day, but it would need significant changes to the engine so it likely wouldn't happen until a later update. Once the Steam release is done I'll see how the feedback looks and use that to set priorities for new updates. Lots to come - thanks again!
slow road 1000/1000 is so cool game
This is so cool! It's genuinely technically impressive, excited for future progress!
Thanks! I've been working on it for nearly 5 years but only recently turned full-time. Happy to finally be making real progress - yesterday I finished a feature that I had to deprioritise over 3 years ago, and in the end it only took a few hours... more to come!
Love it its just so relaxing :)
Wow, it's free
Hope this small amount helps..
can't wait for the steam version. :)
Thanks so much!
